Frequently Asked Questions
How does Postage & Packaging (P&P) pricing work?
The minimum P&P is £3.00 which covers post in the UK. If you are not in the UK then you must select to either add an international add-on of £1 to your cart. If you require signed-for delivery then add an additional £5.00. If you buy several items, you do not need to add these options for each ring! You only add the options once.
Why should I choose a sterling silver or bronze item over a hand-made copper or nickel silver one?
I guess the main reason is that there is a limited number of orignal coins in the world. For every one used to make a ring, there is one less left! It’s a bit like depleting a species by killing them! And a sterling silver item is worth more in monetary-value and doesn’t tarnish like copper and nickel silver. They are of course cast from a genuine original coin and so the memory will be the same!
How can I get my ring size?
The best way is to pop into a jeweller and ask them to measure your ring size - they won't mind - they do it all the time and it only takes a minute! If you don't know it at the time of payment I will ask for it later. You can also request a ringsizer to be posted to you for free!
What are the options for sizing if I have small/big fingers?
The standard ring is a size R. This makes an ideal thumb ring for many women and wedding-ring finger for men. I can re-size rings quite easily.
How can I pay?
You can pay on-line on this site with PayPal which also accepts credit cards. You can send a cheque or money (UK only) or deposit into my bank account in South Africa or the UK.
How long does it take between paying and receiving my ring?
If you buy a hand-made ring, you will wait longer. It takes about six hours to make one and there are a lot on order! I will try to get the ring posted to you within two weeks. Sterling silver and bronze rings will be sent within seven days unless you have ordered a ring for which I have no stock - in which case it will 15 days before despatch.
Can I have rings made from other coins?
Yes, as long as you can supply the coin. I have a limited stock of coins from the UK, USA, New Zealand, Canada, South Africa, Kenya, Zimbabwe, India and Australia!
What is the Blog?
The idea behind the blog is to get people to leave their footprint on this site! Feel free to say whatever you want! If it is not considered suitable (which I doubt will happen) it will not be published.
